Obama's signing of the National Defense Authorization Act, a draconian bill that will allow the military to arrest American citizens and disappear them into a secret labyrinth tribunal system where victims may be kept for years without access to due process and the protection of the Fourth Amendment.
Barack Obama ran for president in 2008 with promises to end extraordinary rendition and indefinite detention and shut down the gulag at Guantanamo Bay.
But four years later, not only those promises have not realized but he signs a bill into a law that authorizes the arbitrary and indefinite military detention of American citizens.

The promise to scrap his predecessor's hardliner war-on-terror policies, which helped Barack Obama win presidential election, is apparently off the table. The political reality is that the current administration is doing quite the opposite thing.
